Flyering Strategy/Guide
Flyering is really important to establish a physical brand presence on campus. Take a look at the following guidelines to time your flyering.
Flyering for events:
Timing
A few days before the event
30 flyers at each classroom (~class size)
Any time during the day, ideally 10 minutes before class starts
Location
Classrooms (on desks, 3 minimum)
Flyering for career opportunities:
Timing
once a week
3 flyers at each target building
8:00am - 9:00am, mornings are ideal times to flyer because facilities will often take down flyers in the evening
Location
Engineering (on walls, 2 buildings)
Business (on walls, 2 buildings)
Design (on walls, 2 buildings)
Flyering is helpful for increasing awareness about DAQRI events, as well as technologies and career opportunities available at DAQRI. Here are some tips to help you flyer effectively.
Whenever possible, take the opportunity to go above and beyond simple flyering! For example, if you are flyering in a class, ask the professor if you can make an announcement about an upcoming event that might benefit his students. Flyering with additional verbal communication will always be more effective than just flyering alone.
Understanding the ideal hire will allow you to flyer more effectively. Start by looking at DAQRI’s career portal for new hire and internship positions. Often, ideal candidates will fall into three baseline archetypes, Engineering, Business, and Design. Feel free to expand on these archetypes, or come up with your own!
Print out a map of campus. Using a unique color for each archetype, circle buildings on the map that you think the archetype would frequent. Draw out a walkable route between circled buildings, making sure that each archetype has at least 2 buildings covered.
Follow your walkable route. Target high-traffic areas within the building, and look for places outside of the building to flyer as well. Before placing a flyer, rip one or two of the tags off – doing so will imply that someone else has already demonstrated interest, lending the flyer credibility. Monitor which locations are most effective over time (with the most tags ripped off). This data will be useful in determining the best spots to flyer.
